Design that starts at home

Kate Miller in her farmhouse kitchen

Hi, I'm Kate Miller.

I'm the founder and designer at Kate Miller Designs, based in Newark, Illinois, where my love for design started right at home.

My husband and I took on the challenge of remodeling an old farmhouse, transforming it into a bright, modern home that still keeps its original charm. That project sparked something deeper — a passion for creating spaces that blend comfort, functionality, and modern style.

I believe every home should feel inviting, lived-in, and uniquely yours. Whether it's a complete remodel or simply refreshing a favorite room, I love helping others design spaces that make them feel truly at home.

My approach

What guides every project

Comfort

Homes are meant to be lived in. Every space should feel inviting, relaxed, and easy to enjoy every day.

Function

Beautiful design works hard. Layouts, storage, and lighting are planned around how you actually live.

Modern Style

Clean, timeless choices layered with warmth, texture, and character that keep a home feeling fresh.
